the pot machine turns you on / the sounds that came along with ptolemaic terrascope 29 in november 2000 / man, raven, flying saucer attack, the bevis frond and more

the ptolemaic terrascope was a british magazine that started in 1989 to explore the obscure psychedelic sounds that influenced the wonderful bevis frond whilst turning into the most comprehensive source for information about mind expanding music throughout the centuries. editor phil mcmullen completed the long strange trip in 2004 with the release of PT#35. issues #1 up to #24 each included a vinyl-ep featuring unreleased tracks by the likes of nurse with wound, twink, high tide, spirit, cliff richard, man, vietnam veterans (to name but a few), issues #25 up to #35 each included a full length cd album with more rare and unreleased gems. all editions of the magazine are completely sold out.

to give you a short insight into what you might have missed we decided to share at least the supplement of PT#29 with you here and now, while PT#26 can be found in this here blog as well. having been released in november 2000 it featured exclusive tracks by raven, ring, the flying saucer attack, broken dog, crazy alien, greg weeks, the lucky bishops, vic conrad, scenic, man with john cipollina live in 1976, abunai, mac macleod, and the bevis frond of course. here is what you can hear and what nick saloman had to say about:
and now listen, learn and read on.

I compiled and produced this CD and have no objection to you sharing it - in fact, I'm really grateful! However, it would be REALLY useful if you could actually do as the headline suggests and digitalize the earlier EPS which only ever came out on vinyl. Those have never been made available on CD or via download, whereas all you're actually doing is reposting something which was already digital.

Phil.

@phil mcmullen. good to hear from you after all these years. you'll possibly remember us as the team that compiled and produced the prae-kraut pandaemonium lps in the 90s. it wasn't my idea to post the terrascope cds here, but i'm glad you have no objections. in fact you're right about the early terrascope eps, and as we have your o.k. now, i'll start to digitalize all i've got. it's not the complete set, but quite a lot. i had subscribed for a couple of years back then and the vinyl is stored well next to other nice stuff like freakbeat mag flexis, bucketful of brain freebies, hartbeat giveaways etc. good idea to give all that back to the world. or, at least, to those who care about things like that. but we'll start with the terrascopes of course. thanks and have a nice day, werner v.

@ phil and the r+t team:

how would i apreciate it if you could digitalize the aforementioned eps, god bless 'm, since i had to find out that my new car has no tapeplaying machine. fuck the modern world!!what the hell am i supposed to do with all the mixtapes I arduously recorded from the eps and other records to listen to on my various (psychedelic or more profane) trips.
