samler: kassel berlin 1980. and i love that jerkwater!

in 1980 the kassel band samler desolated the documenta-area near the german frontier and headed for berlin to record two tracks of northwestgerman psychpunkmayhem though homesickness made them leave ghost-town immedeiately and sent them back home to plant some 3000 oaks. no, they did! the four very young kids spent the summer of june 1980 in berlin only to vanish in obscurity right away. but these two songs of 39-madness will always occupy a very prominent place in may heart, though i never heard their music until mister voran played these two songs to me last friday. anyway: stumblepratpunk for your pleasure!
samler were of course: stefan (bass), patrick (drums), gosto (guitar) and matt (vocals) and you may listen to:

hannover 1980. rocks off makes me spring and dance.

in the late seventies and the very early eighties of the last century the children of hitler's children, the children of cola, cold war and dutschke in the plains of the northwestgerman low lands created and elaborated a very special psychedelyric unstyle of musick: the 39 clocks of course were the spearhead of these ayers-, fowley-, rough trade noises, but a lot of (now) obscure bands antedated and shadowed them.
two years before the first 39 clocks 7" changed the world the hannover band rocks off released their first and most likely only single: stefan heidrich (vocals, guitars), thomas von strohe (bass) and rommé (drums) recorded two tracks at the shelter studios for uptight music and then vanished in the rain. jammerschade. listen, please:

easy livin' (s. heidrich)
girl on the tank (w. hänel / s. heidrich)

(both tracks are direct downloads, mp3 at 320 kbps. and just for the records: matthias was the engineer and the remix was made at tonko hannover 1980)

sonic youth live in bremen 1991. the mira tapes.

sonic youth. the mira tapes. live at the aladin in bremen on the 27th of august 1991. this cd seems to be the bootleg version of the half-official live in bremen album, recorded from a different position in the room and with a slightly different tracklist. as both albums are unavailable by the time being these sounds might add an interesting aspect and facet to the history of sonic youth music for any heartcore collector.

can. the spoon variations. 1971. crime scene soundtrack recordings.

in 1971 francis durbridge shot the crime thriller "das messer" for german television and he invited can to contribute some improvised music to the soundtrack. scaffolding their hit-single spoon analyzed and treatized the sounds they saw and captured the score. you can hear 20 minutes of sound recorded directly from 70s television to an old reel-to-reel to my heartdrive: unfortunately too few things survive.
