some mini3inch8cmcds unearthed out of the black holes of my collection: lindisfarne, legendary pink dots, der plan, clock dva, birthcontrol, sonic youth, revolution 409, das damen, project jenny and jliat last but nought least

just exactly what the headline says: seven mini-cds found in my collection that got nothing in common except for the fact that they indeed are mini-cds, eight centimeter, three inch. the sounds are going throughrough all theemotions of postkraut, postfolk, postexperimentalnoise and whatever you hate, and so here we go:

let us start with the german kraut legend birth control (or birthcontrol, as they seem to be preferring for reasons unknown) with some tracks from 1990, when they were stripped down to a pitiful heap including their original drummer bernd noske and some session musicians whose names may not be told, while an other version of birth control including bernd noske as well was touring germany; so that's a bit confusing. this=here 3"cd including two versions of their greatest hit "gamma ray" annieway is attributed to "bernd noske & birthcontrol" pointing to the assumption that birth control and bernd noske & birthcontrol were two different bands playing rather similar music at different places at the same time. let us leave the discussion at this point and listen to the music:

i always loved lindisfarne, and i loved their lady eleanore as well, but much more than this (or that) i loved their song "meet me on the corner"; so i was rather happy to find a 3"cd with both of the songs i used to love way back in the seventies in unembarrassing versions recorded in 1988. divergent and complementary to the the 7"-version with two songs and the 12"-version with three songs, this=here 3"-cd is including four songs and rounds up to a pleasureful listening experience of almost fifteen minutes.

so lindisfarne is followed by a 3"-cd with some rare live recordings by clock dva from 1993. this cd was part of the rather rare double-cd-package "collective" which i don't own as far as i remember. and i can't remember as well why and how i got this cd in into my collection. burst annieway: here you can listen to some of the sounds clock dva were executing in 1993 before you go and buy the whole package for some 50 euro.

so let us go get back to 1993 when the german geri reig band der plan recorded and released an album's worst of rerecordings and reremixes of their greatest hits called "live at the tiki ballroom of the senior maoris recreation center in maketu, bay of plenty, new zealand"; this album included a 3"-cd called "pocket" with even more reremakes and reremodels, and this little gem is up next now.

this tiny little 3"-cd came free with the first 3.000 copies of the album "the maria dimension" by the legendary pink dots, and is coumpletelay souled out and unavailable by the time being.it is louvelay, and you will laughve it.

and for the penultimate 3"-cd we got sonic youth, das damen, the project jenny and revolution 409 for your pleasure: all four of them included on a tiny little 3"-inch-cd released by sst in 1988. a little bit of crazy boogie beatles for all you lonely hearts out there!

and at least you made it to the button of the whale: here is jliat, the british sound artist coumpletelay unknown to most of you all the lonely people, and he doesn't mind. this=here 3"-cd is not mentioned in his discography. in 2002 he recorded and released this little item to a handful of friends and collaborarateurs, and i was lucky enough to be one of those=these chosen few because i had included two of his tracks on my KLÄNG-compilation series in the years 1999 and 2000.

so here you got the rare chance to listen to his random noise christmas record from 2002 just by clicking your left mouse burdon; there is no rarezip-file for this: if you want to keep the picktsures: save them with riotclick, youno them.
