floating di morel: my mind is too expansive: the unreleased demo recordings from 1998 and 1999 to bemuse your lurid dreams

the berlin based psychoderaylightered band floating di morel was a mindexpanderating nonoise unit led and executioneered by the performancing artists mistress sabine blödorn and mister kai drewitz, both on vocals and all instruments, and most often accompanied by some assorted friends and relatives. born in 1995 the group meandered through a lot of incarnations, released a very good handful of records, and is still alive and knitting today.

most of their releases can be found on the berlin play-loud!-label, and discogs of course will provide you with some more information about floating di morel and associated projects like P.L.O. or the young scamps, if you look close enough.

for the (s)heART'core fans of the band this=here tape i found in the black holes of my collection should be a rather welcome addition to the body of work built around those two artists. this tape is a compilation of fifteen sketches and works in progress that sabine blödorn and kai drewitz recorded in 1998 and 1999 just for their own pleasure; none of these scraps ever saw the light of an official release. some of these tracks seem to be complete and ready for a proper release, some of them are breaking and bursting off in the middle of nowhear, but all of them are more than just vaguely interesting. for the collector of kastrierte philosophen or the 39 clocks these songs will fit perfectly well and will lead them beyond their own transcendation.

and here we go-go:

01 - selling the citron
02 - break even
03 - what else? (listen directly)
04 - dreamer
05 - trop pep
06 - yellow legs
07 - bang! on my soilent sister (listen directly)
08 - recycle (listen directly)
09 - tim bloe
10 - may die maybe
11 - R.A.I.B.
12 - enjoy your castle (listen directly)
13 - some weary moments
14 - travel with the flies
15 - after all

three 7-inch-vinyl-singles for your listening pleasure, featuring franks' (sic!) country playboys, the black vial, the circus of doom (i.e. JG of the 39 clocks), and the snifters from amsterdam

aint-here we go: you'll get not ten, not seven, not even five, but three seven-inch-vinyl-singles that i found deep down in the black holes of my record collection, and i don't kehr too much if you like them or not, because you will get them annieweigh and ernieway and innovay i chose; chonk?

and auntiewhere you will find some rare items by franks' (sic!) country playboys, the black vial, the circus of doom, and the wonderbratfuelly underimperated snifters from amsterdamned. all songs can be listened to directly in your browser, there is no .zip- or .rar-file you are forced to download before listening to the music; but if you want to save the music to your hardveryhard-drive, please do not forget to save the pictures as well.hell. so here we go-go:

the snifters (from amsterdam)
two songs; one about a boy who likes boys, and one about a baby-child that likes punk. both songs were recorded and released in 1978; both songs are absoulutelay relevatourarey, loud and mindope-ning in most cases. if you don't change your life immediatelie-instantleigh the mourment that you hear these songs: you are dead.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

the swamproom recordings 1990
this seven-inch-record was released in 1990 in a limited edition of 199 copies on the hannover swamp room records label. it featured very raw and undemployed demo-recordings by the circus of doom, witchwhat of course was jürgen gleue JG39 aka negrüj luege (sic!) all-allone at home demorecording fore noboredaddy butt me, cheaplay dissguised as the circus of doom, and on the other sight of this life whichis the same it featured the undernarratered liebfried loch aka the black vial withom-evenmore baldleyrecourded underlistenaybollowfi noise that you will love to hate.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

franks' (sic!) country playboys
in this case, the internet and the world wide web and the dark net and the deep net are coumpleatelay clue- and helpless: nothing is known about this band; and nothing really means nothing. nothing. whow, but antiweight you can rearsom deaducktively at least some and the following thinks: first of all the first of all song "love" is a shmochshmaltzshnulze, too shmochshmaltzshnulzig to mention; the beside (though its the a-side oarrr the b-sight) called "fresno" is a reallynice countryrocking song. but nobody knows if it really happened. blabla, i woeren't bore you with annymoure guesses-about who frank thompson mighty-bee; you justgett anynfourmation that i have, and you'll fucking get out-there and fucking-o-research for your fnording selves ass all the facts there are are there in the scans and in the music:

and that's it for now, four know and fur ever!

the 39 clocks live in heidelberg 1983: 80 minutes of songs, noise and distortion: psycho beat up against the wall!

the 39 clocks live im schwimmbad musikclub in heidelberg on the 6th of march 1983: almost 80 minutes of songs, noise and feedback intervowen into one long track; some distortion caused by overamplified bass, some caused by the audience, most caused by the ammusicians. a wonderful long concert in acceptable quality for all you psycho beat fanaticks out there.
i found this one in the archives of sugarmegs, a site that i can not praise enough: they are hosting thousands and thousands of live rarities and other obscure stuff waiting to be unearthed: hours on end of the grateful dead, the kinks 1963, patti smith 1974, the ramones 1974, the flamin' groovies, pink floyd, gunter hampel, kastrierte philosophen, marc bolan, dylan, the incredible string band, neil young, sun ra: just name them and you will find them: tons of stuff you never dared to hope to hear and never even dreamed of it might exist.
this particular 39 clocks concert is one of only two (by the time being) they are hosting: but though i published a lot of their concerts before (follow their tag on spurensicherung and follow their tag on kraut mask replica; and don't be afraid: JG gave me full permission to release these sounds) these two concerts were completely unknown to me. for your pleasure: here are some 80 minutes from their 1983 concert in heidelberg, the recording of a 1982 hannover concert will follow pretty soon. as the given tracklist is incoherent in some parts please accept my corrections and please add to my elisions.
so this is what you get:
JG39, CH39, the mad hi-hatter:

01 tuning/banter
02 39 progress of a psychotic
03 three floors down
04 fast cars
05 (final solution??)
06 noise intermezzo
07 silent activity
08 shake the hippy
09 noise intermezzo
10 virtuous girl
11 heat of violence
12 crime appeal
13 ?
14 DNS
15 psychotic louie louie
16 tuning/banter
17 don't split up again

nico - minnesang

and i told you before: you can never have enough nico in your collection. this minnesong collection was released in germany in 1994 on the very obscure toccata/quedlinburg label and features songs and unsongs most of you might think you are quite familiar with. and: no climax, no punch line: you are right. any halfserious collector of nico should be aware of all of these songs in one version or an other; and as her work most often is documented with no documented evidence of conformity (who the fnord is playing guitar/drums/keyboards/bass and when was that live-session recorded andandand?) all we have is a cluster batch of versions of songs we all love. three versions of saeta for example adding up to the versions you already own and you can not tell for sure wether they are different or not from those you have heard before. and that is what i like about the unresearchable nico: sie bleibt ein rätsel und du kannst es nicht lösen. sie torkelt durch die welt wie ein offenes messer und du schneidest dich an ihr.
by way of exception i adopted the pictures and the tracklist from discogs and unfortunately i have no information to add:

01 - the line (unreleased variation on "saeta")
02 - ghenghis khan (finished version as intended by nico)
03 - saeta (live in london 1985)
04 - vegas (finished version as intended by nico)
05 - the sphinx (finished according to nico's proposals)
06 - i will be seven (unreleased studio recording)
07 - your kisses burn (written by marc almond )
08 - reich der träume (composed by lutz ulbrich)
09 - saeta (live in london 1983)
10 - purple lips (live in london 1983)
11 - nibelungen (unreleased studio recording)
12 - saeta (picadilly radio session)
13 - procession (unreleased studio recording)
14 - the end (original studio version)
15 - das lied der deutschen (original studio version)
16 - roses in the snow (unreleased studio recording)

gleue, klose, worat: exit out: live in verden an der aller 1984 or 1985

exit out were the northwestgerman dextrapoloitation to some of the finest seconds the late doors trio never had. laid lounge neuronic beat for paranoiairports, cramped deterrorealization of here and now triordial tension.

exit out of course were jürgen gleue singing and playing most guitars and the harp, jörg worat on e-piano, grand piano, organ and bass, and the mad high hatter rüdiger klose on drums. for enigmatic reasons they only released one album; "peruse prankster" was recorded in 1985 and wasted to a not-existing audience in 1986, precursed by a 1984 7"-vinyl given away mostly for free during their very rare live appearances.

what we listen to and learn about today are the relics of a live concert exit out celebrated probably in the winter of 1984 to 1985 in verden an der aller. the verden psycho beat posse (kastrierte philosophen, wiederkehr der menschheitskatastrophe, liquidipur, pink flamingoes and more) was there and realized a rare and raw documentation of an audience verité recording: snaps, crackles and pops added to soundcheck talkover for the familiar 15 minutes of youth centre hang about fame: the extra benefit bonus encore is amputated unrecoverably. here we go to hate or ignore:

0 - soundchecktalking 3:00
1 - subway sickness 8:00
2 - she relies on books 3:00
3 - (oh boy) this line is engaged 5:00
4 - instrumental 6:30
5 - change bargain rosaries 3:30
6 - mrs. rye 5:00
7 - (?) 8:30
8 - why don´t you smile now (plus power cut) 5:30

plus surplus:

(maybe you never noticed: but most of the spurensicherung postings experience an appendix vaguely related to the headline: a paradize for mischief completists, hunters and collectors.)

after relapsing one too many splits of the 39 clocks jürgen gleue formed or joined the above mentioned exit out and simultaneously teamed up with matthias arfmann of kastrierte philosophen fame, free jazz legends gunter hampel and thomas keyserling and the unfailing rüdiger klose to perform and record first as "the trip", then later unknown as "the great recordings" permutating into "cocoon", for some abominately reasons ignored despite their two wonderful albums "while the recording engineer sleeps" and the postumous "stretching things".

two tracks of these prae-cocoon bands survived and though they are not all too significantly different to the versions released on the wonderful album "while the recording engineer sleeps" (recorded in 1985, released in 1989), you can find them here: bad copy of second generation of copied tape...

the trip aka the great recordings aka cocoon: gunter hampel (vibraphone, flutes, voices, clarinette, etc), matthias arfmann (guitars, keyboards, voices), rüdiger klose (precisest accurate drums), thomas keyserling (saxohones, flute) and jürgen gleue aka JG39 (bass, guitars and voice).

the 39 clocks live in oldenburg 1983. plus friends and relatives.

the 39 clocks were like the motörhead stalinorgel of the northgerman psycho beat movement in the early eighties of the last century: loud, louder, louderest, most annoying and completely ignoring their audiences. great. a mindset attitude rarely experienced before. only decades later we got to know their dignified sensibility.

the heartcore nucleus of the 39 clocks of course were JG39 and CH39 aka jürgen gleue (voices, instruments) and christian henjes (instruments, voices), both hannover residents. between 1980 and 1987 they released four albums, two singles and very few tracks on long lost compilations. in addition to their rhythm machine and occasional guest musicians they were backed up live and on vinyl by the atomic clock precision of rüdiger klose, the most unimpeachable drummer in the world.

thankworthy the great brotbeutel and the wonderful dorfdisco braunsfeld are sharing most of the music the 39 clocks have released throughout the years and some more. the music of the 39 clocks was always very close to me and so it did not come to my attention that it was almost unavailable for a complete new and younger generation. visit both weblogs to find the basic and fundamental principles of psycho beat.

what we have here to share today are some of the few live recordings that have survived in my collection, and yes: there are more to come. side one of this compactcassette is a raw audience recording of a concert that took place in oldenburg on the 10th of february 1983. on the first six tracks you can hear the trio outburst of JG, CH and the mad high hatter rüdiger klose. after a short break they are joined by a bass player for four more tracks (matthias arfmann of kastrierte philosophen was in the audience, maybe he joined: no one seems to remember). side two starts with two more tracks from the same concert. following is one beauty contest track live in hamburg, no given date. this was the band CH formed or joined when he had moved to hamburg after the untimely split of the 39 clocks. then the before mentioned kastrierte philosophen come up with three tracks live in hannover on the 5th of november 1983. and the reminder of the tape are the 39 clocks again with three tracks live in bremen on the 9th of february 1983. enjoy.
