lucky you; i upended my record collection to unearth a good handfill of underdeterminated german sounds from way beyond that noboredy can stand under will for more than two minutes. you will get appsouloudely no kraut or kosmische, but some swabian comedy, some neue deutsche welle (new german values), some underrated jazz from the fifties, some overrated jazz from the seventies, some long forgotten tv and radio advertisements and some happygodelightedly psycho beat for southwestgerman fleamarkets. you can listen to all of the tracks directly, and you can download a .rar file with all of the music and all of the scans and some more way down below.
so here we go-go:
we are starting off with some recordings from the third german jazz festival that probably was celebrated in cologne in 1955, featuring the likes of freddy christman, hans koller, roland kovac and emil mangelsdorff, who ten to fifteen years later left a lot of deep traces in what was to become known as kraut. but here they are as young men playing the bop.
for your listening pleasure side one and two of the record each are documented here seamlessly without any cuts; the line-up of the bands can be found in the scan above.

when in 1973 the new duden, the mandatory german wordbook, was released, a seven-inch-vinyl-single featuring the radiospots to accompany the release was given away free to booksellers and stationers all over germany, so they could listen to the adverisements in advance. you can listen to these spots right now with the benefit of hindsight.

when the neue deutsche welle german new wave swashed away all the schmaltz and schlager (though it did not) a lot of kosmische krauts and sozialdemokritische hangabouts tried to cash the wave; piefke und pafke, formerly known as arbeitstitel knochen, were two of the more tolerable out-in-siders buy the time boeing. here are both sides of their first single from 1982:

and here are some more tv and radio spots; i stole this flexi in the advertising department of the stuttgart ibm in 1984. lürzer's archives (with apostrophe and so on and so on) had given it away for free to let the best of spots be heard and so on and so on. listen to pepsi cola, apple, shell, perrier, or die! (please note the oxford comma!)

das einrichtungshaus behr is a southwestgerman company for furniture and design, if i might say at least the least, stationed in the metropolis of wendlingen am neckar. in 1978 they released a record with jazz versions of four suebian folksongs by the stuttgarter jazz-trio and handed it out for free to their business partners. the music is rather solid and moderate; and that is what the einrichtungshaus behr is: not even boring.
the stuttgarter jazz-trio of course were werner lener on piano, ludwig stimmler on bass, and elmar wippler on drums. both sides of the record had two tracks each, but you can listen to them right here seamlessly.

i bought this record directly from the drummer (or at least a person who claimed to have been the featurd drummer) on a fleamarket in the neverneverlands between plochingen and nürtingen. it's a wondeful little record i want my jockay to play; it reminds me of a light version of the sparks, early undocumented roxy music, or the 39 clocks if they ever would have dared to play pop music. so it's lvely but coumpletelay unmatured. and nobody knows if rainer rohrmose on drums and dietmar ilg on guitars an lyrics really ever happened.

and lost burst least we have the stuttgart stand-up comedian willy reichert with hiss version of an alltime horrorscope for scorpios, recorded and released in 1959. the first two seconds of this record are absoloudelay great, but for the rest of it you must be more than familiar with the subtleties of the swabian lainguage and the skorpius zodiac sign. but i guess you are.
